Since 2006, Innovacell has been working on the development of ICEF15, an innovative cell- therapy analogous to ICES13, but aimed at the treatment of faecal incontinence.
In contrast to current therapies for faecal incontinence, which involve some degree of invasive surgery and among other things the implantation of medical, technical devices, the treatment with ICEF15 aims at functional, regenerative and natural improvement of the rectal sphincter.
The results of two clinical tests in Phase I/II have shown that ICEF15 holds great promise. After successfully completing the Phase II study, Phase IIb began in October 2013. The first treatments have been executed during the fourth quarter of 2013. If all goes well, the procedure of Phase III clinical trials might begin by the end of 2015. This rapid rate of progress is attributable to the excellent amount of data and earlier experience that has been gathered.
